A couple of years ago I told myself, if I ever set foot in Dubai I am going to skydive.
Last month, that’s what I did.
Continue reading to hear a little about my adventure with Skydive Dubai.
Tickets booked, hotels booked and one thought kept bugging me. It is the promise I made to myself that I will do the dive. So I opened the browser, looked into Skydive Dubai and took the plunge. Simply because I do not want to leave any room for later regrets. After making the booking, I set the thoughts aside so I won’t spook myself. I do not have any phobia of heights but the thought of free-falling isn’t something I’m used to (of many of us!).
On the D-day, I was feeling the butterfly, anxiety whatever you can call it. Yes I am excited but since it is a novel experience I was nervous in all honesty. I was quieter than I am as the time neared for me to board the plane. Here, I would like to give a huge shout out to Skydive Dubai team. From the get go, the service was great. Registration and payment was straightforward and my funny instructor Carlos made the whole experience memorable. The instructions were easy to follow and most important part is just to hold my head high and smile. It was my moment. Not to forget Mr. T who was at my side for the whole duration giving me all the love and support. He is my rock!
When the time came, I went up the sky with 4 other divers, videographers and instructors. The moment I jumped, the fear left instantaneously and I was filled with adrenaline. I had a blast free-falling and at end of the free fall I was in awe of the view I get to soak in for about 5 minutes. Hovering above Palm Jumeirah with a greater view of Dubai city is still etched in my mind till this date. The word that dominated my sentences was ‘WOW’. Yes I ticked this off my bucket list, but what I took away from this amazing experience was the reminder that anything that is first always seems scary but it will eventually pass – leaving us triumphant against challenges.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope this post will inspire you to take the plunge to skydive!

Hope everyone had a lovely Easter break.
Unfortunately our weather in London wasn’t that great over Easter. It was damp and cold. Not a good combination. However, spirits were definitely high. With a 4 day long weekend, ain’t no weather is going to bring me down. With these cold spells dragging well into April, Spring just seems far away.
When it comes to clothing, one thing that is constantly on my list is sweater. I think it has only been sweater for a long time. The consolation though is that I found a lovely grey sweater with a dragonfly embroidered on it. Yes dragonfly makes me happy. I think it has something to do with my mum saying it brings good luck when I was young. Sentimental things like these just gets you. I found the best way to cheer myself up in this seemingly miserable weather is to pair this grey sweater with a red lip. Somehow they just add ‘colour’ to the ‘pale’ atmosphere. To say the least I have been loving this combination for a while and I think it will be for some time to come. 🙂
Have a lovely evening everyone.
Till next time,
I was looking at my old photos and saw some that invoked soul enriching feeling. It was my photos from hiking at the Black Forest.
This trip was a surprise from Mr T last Autumn and we stayed at the amazing Hotel Traube Tonbach. Though the highlight was in fact spending a couple of days in this marvellous hotel, the pinnacle of this trip for me was our hiking day at the Black Forest.
I love a hike. But hiking in the chilly weather sort of made me taken aback for a bit to be honest. However, it did happened and I don’t regret it one bit. In fact, this trip made me go for a winter hike without any hesitation.
Now the good part, what does hiking actually do for you?
3. It gives you a breather. There’s something about fresh air filling your lungs, it exhales away the hustle and bustle of our busy busy life. You get to know that hey, there is clarity around us when we actively look for it.
2. It reminds you of the beauty we of Mother Earth. When you hike, especially when it is a long one, you tend to actually open your eyes and your senses. You get to know that hey, you become aware of the things that are actually around you.
1. The most satisfying part of what hiking can do for you. It reminds you of your ability. All the good stuff we often forget we have in us: Perseverance, patience, agility, sense of adventure, sense of wonderment. All in all, that CAN DO attitude. You get to know that hey, I am alive and I could be the best version of myself.
Hiking is a great activity. Schedule it in all season. You might just receive the inspiration that I did.
White handbag: La Martina (old collection), similar here
La Martina is having sales on bags. Do check them out for exclusive discounts. I love their collections particularly The Guards. This post is not a promotion for the brand. It is written on my own accord with my honest opinion.
Hi my loves, hope you guys are having a good week so far. In this short post I will be featuring one of my handbag. I only have 3 handbag in my collection so far. Of course it is my dream to have more (which woman doesn’t) but I am very contented with what I have at the moment. This is the bag I would reach for on the days I am feeling more dressy. In my opinion, a white bag completes any outfits. And I have been using it season in season out without any problem. The size is small but it could fit my essentials very well such as handphone, key holder, card holder, a few make up and a shade. I still remember getting my La Martina at Forte dei Marmi, Italy. It was my first designer handbag and every time I use this handbag it reminds me of the beautiful memories I had on my travels there and also a reminder that I bought it with my hard earn money. I am very proud of this bag and I just know I will keep it in my collection for the longest time. Do you guys have a bag that has a special memory attached to it? Share it in the comments below, it would be lovely to hear your bag memories.
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
Hi everyone, hope everyone is having a great Saturday. 🙂 I was doing some reflection this morning and I would like to share one of it to you guys.
About a month ago, I experienced my first full snow. Everything looked like a beautiful white canvas, which I painted with lovely experiences. As a person who enjoy hiking, hiking in the snow was a completely new adventure leading to something remarkable – tapping into my inner child and building my first ever snowman.
On that day, building my snowman brought nothing but child like curiosity and determination. In the end, I was marvelling at my creation. My snowman was named Rocco. Although he might not be there anymore the next day, he will live in my memory and will always remind me of the joyous fun I had for the rest of my life.
I work with children day in and day out so my inner child is always triggered and it gives me some sanity in this at times insane life. Many times children show us how to de-stress and it is up to us to use that give we all have inside us. My snowman is one of my example, the ‘snowman’ could be anything in life that came out of sheer curiosity and wanting to live in the moment just like children do.
How often do you build your snowman? How often do you tap into your inner child?
Till next time,
Good evening everyone!
Hope you guys are having a good week. It is Friday!
When I was doing my research on Vienna for my trip last December, breakfast was an important component. My aim was to search for special places to load up on early morning. Basically to start the day with the highest gear. And I found the perfect place.
Kunst Historisches Museum Wien.
It perfectly complemented our museum run day. The interior is simply stunning. I was there with Mr T at 10am when the cafe starts operating. We were basically the first people there and it was great to take some nice photos without being in other people’s way. 😉
The cupola hall where the cafe was located was magnificent and packed with comfortable sofas. You have a choice of ordering their breakfast set or create your own combinations. I say definitely go for the set. I feel it was the best start to our day viewing the collections and exhibitions in the museum. Be sure to be there early as the crowds do get in around 11ish.
Hope this post inspires you check out the museum and this amazing cafe.
Thank you for dropping by! 🙂
Hello everyone! Hope you guys are having a good week so far. 🙂
It was my first time visiting Munich in December and scrolling through my photos I thought of sharing a place where you could get the most amazing view of the city. I remember feeling very content and extremely thrilled because of this place.
It requires 306 steps climb up.
Standing at nearly 300 feet tall with an impressive view of the city is Alter Peter, in other words St. Peter’s church. Climbing this won’t be an easy feat with narrow gaps at certain spots and big holes between the steps where you can casually see three stories down (if you easily feel dizzy, I suggest not to look down). However, when there is a will there is a way.
But hey we need to work hard for the best things in life. So girlbosses and manbosses out there, work it to earn it.
My advise is please do not stand at a spot for ages because there will be unhappy people around you mumbling under their breath. The viewing platform can be quite tight for people to move about, so be more aware of your surrounding. Other than that, soak in the view and enjoy every moment of it!
