#pickabookFriday – Have a Little Faith

Hello everyone! We have come to the end of the work week (for most of us) and that means it is time for another #pickabookFriday instalment. This week's feature is another Mitch Albom's gem – Have a Little Faith.

Sometimes we all need a little pick me up book and this book fits in just well. Please don't be discouraged by the title of the book with the perception that it might be purely religious. I understand religious books might not be everyone's cup of tea. This is a beautifully written story of a remarkable journey between two worlds – two men, two faiths, two communities – that will inspire you in one way or another.  It is a story about how two distinct men use their faith for survival. In this book, the author reflects on different aspects of life such as  how to endure when difficult things happen, what is heaven, issue of intermarriage, elements of forgiveness, doubting God and the importance of faith in trying times.

Why this book is profound? Mitch Albom pens his magic in this book which successfully delivers the message that there is a profound comfort and hope in believing in something bigger than oneself. Some quotes I would like to share with my readers,

"Faith is about doing. You are how you act, not just how you believe.”

“You are not your past.”

Although this true story is based on the author's journey, it is a story in which everyone can connect. There is something to take away at the end of the read.

Hope you guys enjoy reading as much as I do. Do share your favourite books in the comments so all of us could be inspired to add more books our collection! Happy Weekend everyone!

xx, Mielyn
